GenePharma provides a scrambled siRNA negative control which has the same nucleotide composition but not the same sequence as your test siRNA. This type of negative control is used to distinguish sequence-specific-silencing from non-specific effects from you RNAi experiment.
The cell viability, cell phenotype and levels of your test gene mRNA and protein from samples treated with a negative control siRNA should remain comparable to those of untreated samples. When these conditions are met, it can be concluded that silencing by the test siRNA is specific, and any downstream effect to gene knockdown can be attributed to the specific silencing of the target gene.
GenePharma siRNA negative control is provided as 1 O.D., supplied dry and ready to dilute.
